About this Talk

For the past 8 years, Willamette University Men's Basketball Head Coach Kip Ioane has implemented the #TeamsOfMen Character Development program with his players. A 4 year tiered program that culminates in a Senior Capstone Presentation to High School teams, #TeamsOfMen is designed to help players develop a healthy definition of their own masculinity. In doing so, the program is combatting sexual assault and domestic violence thru prevention, preaching victim support and advocacy, and putting influential college athletes in front of impressionable youth. During his session, Coach Kip will compare the prep time and strategies coaches utilize for on the court special situations and hope to convince them of the need to lend similar time and thought to off the court programming as well.
